orange duvet cover

i've finally moved in!

i'm living in a beautiful, colorful, sunny apartment in brighton. i love it, even though my mattress is on the floor and i have absolutely no bedroom furniture. the problem with living in a semi-furnished studio apartment is that when you move out, you don't have enough furniture to fill up even one room of the new place. a trip to ikea is now tiding me over until i can finish furnishing the rest of the place. i got a sweet duvet cover (finally, i've been sleeping under a naked comforter for over a year now), some silverware (so i can eat the groceries i just got), and some blue twinkle lights to put in my huge closet.

but it's having a place at all that makes me the most happy. once we get the music room set up and the art hung on the walls, it's really going to start feeling like home. it's comforting to talk to bethann about which cupboard the canned goods should go in, where we'll smell the litter box the least, and how tuesday is trash day. funny how all the chores i hated growing up are the ones that make me feel like i'm finally home.

in other news, we've booked the plane tickets to vancouver! well, seattle, and then a train to vancouver. kyle, matt and i have begun rehearsing regularly and it's really starting to get comfy. i'm still nervous about the guitar on the plane thing, and i know i'll be increasingly nervous as the countdown to takeoff continues. maybe i'll just have to tranquilize myself before boarding. we'll see.

i'm still waiting for my brain to calm down and for things to get back to normal. i'm guessing that won't happen for a few years, but i'm still waiting.

time to sleep under my new orange duvet cover.
