not sleepy

yeah it's like 4:30 in the morning. i should go to sleep but i've become obsessed with photoshop and the new song i'm writing with megan burtt. i think it's gonna be good. i also just like playing my guitar too much. i realized today that part of the reason i like playing it so much is because it still smells like my dad's workshop. it's like a woodchip/laquer/barn/machine grease smell. i love it. i think it calms me down, the way the smell of turkey dinner calms some people down.

we're going to try to finish all the tracks for the vancouver release this week. the first song we're putting on it is a human rights song that i wrote with my sister amanda and kyle called "could you love me better". it's a little bit cheesy, but very relevant and i'm excited to record it. it's one of those that has just kind of been sitting in a pile with the other songs that i haven't touched in the past six months. i feel bad for that pile. there's some good stuff in there. anyway, the next song is a tagalog song by a filipino artist name joey ayala called "walang hanggang paalam". it's a really sweet sounding love song. i'm a little nervous to record it (because of pronunciation, etc), but i think it'll be fine. i just have to practice.

so i'm still in search of an apartment. nothing new there.

also, i'm in bed sick. which makes the no apartment thing worse, since i need to be up and at 'em to get a place. i've just been searching craiglist like crazy.

but i've finally gotten two mixes back from rich mendelson and they're sounding GREAT! i've already posted one of the songs (time) on my myspace and website. i must admit, i was a little freaked out for awhile that the mixes weren't going to accurately represent what i wanted, but they're turning out wonderfully. i wish i could hear them better, but my ears are all plugged up from my cold.
